Kevin had his first tandem flight with Rob on April 5, 1998.
They launched from Marshall Peak and flew for almost an hour.
I joined them on my own hang glider. We flew in the thermals and
went up to 6,000'. It was a fun day.
Kevin had taken lesson at a training hill with Sally Tucker. His first day of the training hill lesson was on April 18, 1998.
He learned how to balance the wing, body position, and launch runs.
He did very well. He already had completed all of the training hill and tandem flight lessons.
He had his first solo on July 26th. After his first solo flight, Kevin said "It was thrilling, and he felt like
a bird, jumping out of nest". Kevin had been hang gliding for 2
years now. He had learned how to fly in the thermals. He
went up to 7,100'. He flew most of time at Crestline and some
time at Lake Elsinore. Kevin passed the Hang 3
